Compliance Manager

A leading superyacht construction, sales, and charter company based in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a highly organised and compliance-focused Compliance Manager to join its team. This is a key office-based role supporting the operational and technical management of a fleet of over 20 vessels, a number of which exceed 5000GT.
With increasing regulatory demands and fleet complexity, we are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of maritime compliance, safety management systems, and emissions reporting to support the team and ensure the company continues to meet the highest standards across both commercial and yachting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) functions
- Assist in the ongoing development, implementation, and revision of the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Monitor, interpret, and implement new maritime regulations, including ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, MRV, DCS, and CII compliance
- Coordinate regulatory reporting across the fleet, including emissions and performance data
- Maintain accurate documentation and records using Manage My Vessel software
- Liaise with technical and operational departments to ensure seamless regulatory and compliance processes
- Provide recommendations on practical implementation strategies and explore regulatory alternatives where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a regulatory, compliance, or technical support role within the maritime sector
- Strong working knowledge of international maritime regulations (commercial and yachting experience highly valued)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and edit compliance documents
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working across multiple departments and priorities
- Familiarity with fleet management platforms, ideally Manage My Vessel
- Ability to stay current with evolving regulatory requirements and provide practical, real-world solutions
