Estate Manager – Transition from Sea to Shore

A rare opportunity is available for an experienced superyacht captain or senior officer seeking a long-term, land-based role. This position involves managing a large, technically complex private estate with the same level of precision, structure, and discretion required at sea.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the daily operations, staffing, maintenance, and overall presentation of a high-value residence, providing calm, consistent leadership and ensuring all systems and services operate at an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full scope of estate operations, from staff coordination to technical oversight.

• Lead a team including housekeeping, security, landscaping, and specialist contractors.

• Manage planned and preventative maintenance across all systems and buildings.

• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers; negotiate and monitor contracts.

• Ensure the estate is always maintained to a high standard and ready for use.

• Provide administrative and logistical support to the principals, including occasional PA duties and travel coordination.

• Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a superyacht captain (or a chief officer), with strong operational, technical, and leadership skills.

• Comfortable managing a property with complex systems, fine materials, and high service expectations.

• Strong communicator with the ability to lead teams and liaise effectively with principals and vendors.

• Discreet, reliable, and well-organised with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.

• Tech-savvy, with a working knowledge of modern household and security systems.

• Legally able to work in the U.S. (citizenship or green card), with a valid driver’s license and clean background.

Preferred:

• Captain of a 50M plus vessel, with a stable track record, and a strong working relationship with the Owner.

• Familiarity with high-end residential systems, formal protocols, and service delivery at a five-star level.
