Maritime Safety and Compliance Manager (Deputy DPA/CSO)

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced maritime professional to take on the role of Maritime Safety and Compliance Manager, acting as Deputy Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO). This position is available to UK nationals only and can be performed remotely or in a hybrid format within the UK.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and implementing maritime safety policies and procedures

Ensure ongoing compliance with national and international maritime regulations

Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments onboard and ashore

Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and close-out
-
Coordinate and deliver safety training and awareness initiatives

Maintain safety documentation and regulatory records

Oversee emergency preparedness, including shore-based drills
-
Act as a point of contact for safety and compliance concerns across the fleet
Ideal Requirements:

5+ years in the maritime industry, ideally as a Captain, Chief Engineer, or senior officer, OR

DPA/CSO certification, OR
-
Maritime Lead Auditor qualification

Strong knowledge of maritime legislation and safety management systems

Experience with regulatory inspections and internal audits

Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
